After hearing so many good things about the Newton and marveling at the styling from afar, I went out a bought myself a 2100. Then another. As one member of the community put it "the researcher has been corrupted by his subject." Corrupted? Probably a little strong. Charmed? Certainly. I spent many a day playing - err, learning how to use it. I use my Newtons for a variety of tasks: Dial into my home ISP (Shouting Ground Technologies), check and respond to my email, and read Newtontalk digests. Edit Word papers in Newtonworks. Grade my students' group presentations and email them the comments (without having to retype my comments - yay). Take notes at meetings and then transfer them into MS Word. Sketch and doodle during the boring parts of said meetings. Get strange looks from some, nods of recognition from others.
